Description
What does it take to protect a city of 250,000 people? How do you manage 35,000 calls for service every single month? From patrolmen and homicide detectives to dispatchers and special operations, hundreds of people make up the complex workings of the Lubbock Police Department to ensure the safety of our community. During this session, Chief of Police Gregory Stevens will take you on a tour of LPD, including, a look at the Communications Center that handles all 911 calls for the city, the identification department where evidence is processed, and much more. He will also discuss the intricate organization of the department, our Lubbock crime rates, and the future of community policing for LPD.
