  • Lubbock Chamber Joins Push for Regulatory Reform Bill

On February 6, led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce along with a coalition of over 600 trade associations, business groups, and state and local chambers of commerce from all 50 states sent a letter to the Senate supporting the Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA) of 2017.  The legislation, which passed the House on January 11, 2017, by a bipartisan vote of 238 – 183, would modernize the Administrative Procedure Act and improve transparency and accountability in the rulemaking process for federal agencies.

The Chamber has been a strong supporter of the RAA, including sending a similar letter to House leadership in December 2016 with 380 signatories urging regulatory reform to be a top priority in the 115th Congress.
