Lubbock Chamber to Celebrate Agriculture Roots at Salute to Ag Luncheon
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lubbock Chamber will hold its Salute to Agriculture luncheon, presented by United Supermarkets, on Tues., April 20 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, 17th and University.
The featured speaker will be Brandon Lipps, former Under Secretary of Food Nutrition, and Consumer Services (FNCS) for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Lipps previously served as Deputy Under Secretary of the Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services and also as Administrator of the Food and Nutrition Service. From 2014-2017, Lipps served as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chancellor at the Texas Tech University System, where he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and a law degree from TTU School of Law. Previously, Lipps served as Counsel and Senior Professional Staff to the United States House Committee on Agriculture, during the formulation and passage of the 2014 Farm Bill. He also served as Legislative Aide and Rural District Director for a former Texas State Senator and Associate at the Crenshaw, Dupree, & Milam law firm.
