• Community and Business Leaders to Descend on State Capitol in late February

    LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will travel to Austin Feb. 26-27 for Lubbock Day at the State Capitol. This gives the Lubbock community the opportunity to visit legislators while discussing issues important to the Lubbock area economy.
    As the leading voice of business on the South Plains, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce works to ensure law makers at all levels of government understand the unique needs of its member businesses and the area economy. As a member of the Lubbock Day at the State Capitol delegation, attendees will have access to state senators and state representatives from across Texas while learning about the latest legislative developments from top lobbyists.
    The event will kick off with a Legislative Reception on Tues., Feb. 26 at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol. The next day (Feb. 27) events include: breakfast briefing, a group photo at the rotunda inside the Capitol, a legislative briefing in the historic Appeals Court of the Texas State Capitol, Lubbock Day Proclamation to be read on the floor of the State Senate and House of Representatives, and concluding with a luncheon at the Sheraton Austin Hotel.
    A registration fee of $200 is required to participate and Chamber members receive a discounted rate of $150. Please note attendees are responsible for their own travel and hotel accommodations.
