Lubbock, TX – May 19, 2020 – It is with great pleasure that The American Theatre Guild launches the premiere of the Broadway At The Buddy Holly Hall Series at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences. This inaugural season includes BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story, CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE, AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, BEAUTIFUL – The Carole King Musical, and LES MISÉRABLES. The 2020-21 Broadway At The Buddy Holly Hall Series will also feature RENT and JERSEY BOYS as season add-ons.

    Now in its 30th amazing year, the "World's Most Successful Rock 'n' Roll Musical" continues to thrill audiences around the world. Viewed by more than 22 million people worldwide, Buddy opened in London's West End in 1989, and has been seen on Broadway, throughout Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Scandinavia, South Africa, the Netherlands and Singapore, winning numerous awards along the way.  BUDDY tells the story of Lubbock’s favorite son, Buddy Holly, through his short yet spectacular career, and features the classic songs, “That'll Be The Day,” “Not Fade Away,” “Oh Boy,” “Ritchie Valens' La Bamba,” “The Big Bopper's Chantilly Lace” and many more! This show is just Peggy Sue-perb.

    AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, based on the Oscar-winning film starring Richard Gere, is a breathtaking production that celebrates triumph over adversity and includes one of the most iconic and romantic endings ever portrayed on screen. Featuring the Grammy Award® winning, #1 hit single ‘Up Where We Belong’, and a score based on the 1980’s catalogue of music that gave voice to a generation, the live stage production is a new adaptation by multiple Tony Awards nominee Dick Scanlan (THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, EVERYDAY RAPTURE), based on the original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart. The musical is directed by Scanlan with choreography by Patricia Wilcox (MOTOWN, A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN). 
    Zack Mayo’s got smarts and a body built for US Navy pilot boot camp, but he also has too much swagger… until he meets a drill sergeant who’s determined to drill his arrogance out of him. Zack finds comfort in the arms of a local factory girl.     • Postponements: If a show or performance in the 2020-21 Series is postponed, please hang on to your tickets as we work to reschedule. If we are unable to reschedule the show or performance, you will receive more information at that time of your options. 
    • Rescheduling: If a show or performance is rescheduled, your tickets will be valid for the new performance time. If the new performance time does not work for you, reach out to our Patron Services Representatives to discuss exchanges and further options. 
    • Cancellations & Options: If a show or performance unfortunately must be canceled, you have options as a Season Member:
      • Choose to have a credit applied to your account for a future Broadway Series purchase
      • Donate the amount of the tickets to Staging The Future, our educational outreach program. The amount will be tax deductible. 
      • Receive a refund for the amount of the tickets for your performance.
