Leadership Program for College Students
Focus Lubbock, which is patterned after Leadership Lubbock, is designed to provide college students with necessary community information and leadership skills to help them prepare for public service, shape their future and potentially retain them in Lubbock after graduation. Participating higher education institutions include Texas Tech University, Lubbock Christian University, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Wayland Baptist University and South Plains College. Class involves seven all-day meetings, graduation banquet and a trip to Austin. Steering Committee is open to Leadership Lubbock graduates.
For more information on Focus Lubbock contact Phyllis Jones, Vice President-Leadership at phyllis.jones@lubbockbiz.org, or (806) 761-7003.
Members of the 2009-10 Focus Lubbock class learn about the cotton industry, from field to fabric. Here, they are at the American Cotton Growers denim mill in Littlefield, learning how cotton is spun into denim.
