Hispanic Business Division
The Hispanic Business Division was formed in 2008 as a result of the merger between the Lubbock Hispanic Chamber and the Lubbock Chamber. With
Lubbock
’s Hispanic population growing 29% since 2000, the importance of increasing the level of Hispanic participation at the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce has grown more and more.
The division’s mission is to build, promote and enhance
Lubbock
while focusing on Hispanic and minority businesses. The division hosts several mixers, events and networking opportunities throughout the year including the Cinco de Mayo Luncheon, Fiestas Patrias Luncheon and various roundtable discussions and seminars.
The division also has several committees for members, Hispanic and non-Hispanic alike, to get involved. This is a great opportunity for you to help grow a
Lubbock
Chamber that truly reflects our diverse community by becoming involved with any of the Hispanic Business Division’s committees and/or councils:
-
HBD Leadership Advisory Council - focuses on increasing minority participation within
Lubbock
’s leadership programs
-
HBD Membership Committee - retains existing minority Chamber members and recruits Future Members
-
HBD Business Advisory Council - focuses on Spanish-Dominant businesses and linking Hispanic and non-Hispanic businesses together
(Spanish Dominant)
-
HBD Communications Committee - markets the Hispanic Business Division’s message to the community
-
Mercado – responsible for the planning and execution of the Lubbock Chamber’s second Mercado to be held October 12, 2010 and will highlight Hispanic businesses from the Lubbock area.
