By the numbers: Lubbock business community’s achievements during COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a major shift in how we all conduct our day-to-day business. From partial closures in the spring to conducting virtual meetings through online platforms, and wearing masks while we’re out and about, we all find ourselves in brand new territory.

The Lubbock Chamber has done its best to adapt to the times and serve the business community through the challenges the last few months have brought. The efforts made by local businesses and our neighbors across Lubbock are difficult to quantify, but here are just a few figures that provide some perspective:
  • Created a COVID-19 resource page that was visited nearly 10,000 times
  • Gathered more than 7,000 participants in virtual meetings
  • Provided businesses with access to 10 public officials
  • Promoted 129 businesses seeking workers looking for job opportunities
  • Distributed 120,000 face masks to Lubbock businesses for their employees and customers

We value the partnership of every single member and applaud everyone for doing their best to make it through these times. While COVID-19 has thrown a wrench at our normal operations, we still pride ourselves on being a catalyst, convener (via Zoom or socially distanced), and champion for Lubbock businesses.
