A Different Taste of Texas on a Friday Night

The Lubbock Uncorked Wine Festival is this Friday, April 12.  Uncorked will showcase Texas wineries offering a large variety of wine for you to taste and enjoy. Wine is also available to purchase by the bottle.  Winemakers from throughout the state will be available to answer questions and provide information to the public.

Uncorked will feature 22 wineries with up to 88 Wine variations from  Pheasant Ridge Winery, Llano Estacado Winery, Farmhouse Vineyards, and Texas Wine Company to name a few. You will have a chance to vote for your favorite wine before the night is over so come prepared to taste a lot of delicious wine. A beer garden and local food trucks such as Farm to Fork Gastro Truck, Aspen Creek Grill, J&D BBQ, and Mi Kocina will be available.

Live music from James Cook, The Gibbonses, Jenni Dale Lord, Junior Vasquez, Madelyn Mandry, and The School of Rock will be performing on two stages during the event.

Two wine education classes are available this year.  Tickets for both classes must be purchase in conjunction with a Lubbock Uncorked ticket. New this year is “Wine 101”, with an opportunity to learn more about wine from Elizabeth Hill, of Burklee Hill Winery.  This class will be offered from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Attendees will learn how the notes of flavor in wine change when paired with tastes like salty and sweet. The class will offer basic information that will be helpful for new or seasoned wine drinkers. Tickets for the class are $25.

Also available is “Wine‘n’Dine Texas Style” a wine and food pairing from 7 to 8:15 p.m., hosted by Chef Tony Pina of Farm to Fork Gastro Truck. Chef Pina will present samplings of a five course meal, and each dish will be prepared using local Texas products paired with Texas wine.  The menu will feature Camarone Verde, E-3 Farm’s Rissoto, Texas Crispy Quail, Bison Short Rib, and Mocha Sorbet. Chef Pina has carefully curated a list of dishes that bring out and compliment the flavors of the paired wine. Tickets for the class are $45.

Come enjoy wine while you listen to Texas country music on indoor and outdoor stages or learn more about wine and your taste pallet from one of our wine classes. Uncorked has something for everyone and creates a fun atmosphere to enjoy wine.
