A Convener for Business During Unprecedented Times
Last year, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce realigned its brand to deliver a straightforward and simple message to the business community. We are a catalyst for business growth, convener of leaders and influencers, and a champion for a stronger community.
Like every business we serve, we have had to reassess how to fulfill our mission during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In particular, how do we convene leaders and influencers to conduct business while also promoting social distancing?
The Chamber has transitioned many of its meetings and events to a virtual platform. And while those “gatherings” aren’t what any of us anticipated a month ago, they’ve been productive and informative for our members. Below is a list of recorded webinars with a link if you missed it and want to catch up.
- National Ag Day Salute to Ag with USDA Under Secretary Dr. Mindy Brashears
- Small Business Administration Loan Program with West Texas SBA Office
- Paycheck Protection Program Update with Neil Bradley from the US Chamber of Commerce (special guest Senator John Cornyn)
- State Legislative Briefing with Senator Charles Perry and Representatives Frullo and Burrows
- Implementation of the Families First Coronavirus Act (“Phase 2”) with Ann Manning of Underwood Law Firm
- Community Prayer Gathering
- Young Professionals Lunch and Learn on Working and Learning Remotely
In the coming weeks, we will have even more virtual meetings on health care policy, updates from the City of Lubbock, and other topics important to the business community.
We also continue to host meetings for our Government Relations Committee, Transportation Committee, Agriculture Committee, Leadership Lubbock, Young Professionals, and more. We look forward to gathering with all of you whenever it’s safe to do so, but in the meantime, we hope you’ll join us and stay active in the business community affairs as we convene leaders and businesses from across various industries.
We are always looking for topic ideas to best help the business community. If you have any suggestions for an upcoming webinar please let us know in the comments below, by calling (806) 761-7000, or contacting one of our Chamber staff directly.
