LunchboxWax Wins Big at Annual WellBiz Brands UNITED Conference

The Lubbock location of LunchboxWax, a full-service, speed-waxing salon, recently won big at the 2022 WellBiz Brands UNITED Conference in Las Vegas, NV, which celebrates the achievements of 750 salons across the U.S.
 
LunchboxWax took home five awards, including the Manager Culture & Community Award, Waxologist Culture & Community Award,National Top Product Sales, Waxologist of the Year and Franchisee of the Year.
 
“It’s hard to put this feeling into words,” said Geri Jones, owner of Lubbock LunchboxWax and recipient of the Franchisee of the Year Award. “It’s an honor to receive this award. For most, it may just be a piece of glass. For me, it shows true grit and strength. We opened 10 months before the COVID-19 lockdowns and closed for eight weeks during that time. I didn’t know if we would bounce back, but we persevered.
 
“Supporting a local business is supporting a dream. I want to say thank you to my family, mystaff and, most importantly, to the Lubbock community that has supported me and my team.”
 
Savanha Nuñez received the Waxologist Culture & Community and Waxologist of the Year awards and is thrilled by the recognition.
 
“I wasn’t expecting to receive this award,” Nuñezsaid. “To be recognized by the best salons and waxologists was overwhelming. I love my job, my co-workers, and Geri. I feel truly blessed and humbled. I can’t fully express just how much this means to me. I’m so grateful.”
 
Jennifer Joiner, who received the award for National Top Product Sales, has been with LunchboxWax for three years now. She expressed her pride in her team and co-workers.
 
“I’m absolutely amazed by my team and all they have accomplished,” Joiner said. “Geri is such a deserving recipient of the Franchisee of the Year Award, and you can clearly see the positive culture in the business she has built. I’m very honored to work with such talented women and under a strong leader to mentor under.”
 
Manager Culture & Community Award recipient Tawni Hinson has been with LunchboxWax for three years. She notes why this award is so meaningful to her.
 
“This award shows the determination and culture we share here as a team,” Hinson said. “I’m so honored to be recognized by this amazing company. Having an incredible boss who also pushes each of us to be the best and believes in us feels great.”
 
While Jones is proud to share the accolades her franchise has received, she hints at exciting news happening soon.
 
“We’ll be announcing a major change next month,” Jones said. “While the Lubbock community should still expect the same incredible service from us, it will look a little different. I can’t wait to share the news with everyone in May.”
