Business Input Needed: Regional Flood Plan

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has been tasked with creating a comprehensive state flood plan to protect against loss of life and property due to flooding. Fifteen regional flood planning groups have been designated to develop the first regional flood plan by January 2023. Each of the individual regional plans will be combined to make up Texas’ first regional flood plan. Lubbock in included in the Upper Brazos Region 7 along with Abilene and several surrounding areas.

The input of residents from across the region, including business and property owners, is needed. A survey has been created for you to voice your opinion and share any data or helpful insights that will aid in our region’s flood planning efforts.

The current phase of collecting feedback ends on August 27, after which additional data that’s collected will be incorporated into the next phase of the flood planning effort. You can access and participate in the survey HERE, and please also consider sharing with your colleagues and other potential stakeholders.
