Event Description: The Chamber will host an Alternative Energy Symposium from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Plains Cotton Cooperative Association, located at 3301 E. 50th Street. Please enter through the west doors. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the program begins at 8:30. Topics for the day will include wind energy, ethanol, and energy policy. Speakers will include Joe Outlaw with the Texas A&M Agricultural and Food Policy Center, Dr. Andy Swift with the Texas Tech Wind Science and Engineering Center, Sam Sacco with the Levelland-Hockley County Ethanol plant, and Tim Lust with National Sorghum Producers. The symposium will conclude with lunch and a panel discussion moderated by Tim Snyder of Agri-Energy Solutions. The panel will be made up of the morning’s speakers. The symposium should conclude by 1 p.m. Tickets are $39 for members and $49 for non-members. Sponsorships are available for $250 and include two registrations, your logo on the program, the opportunity to hang a banner at the event, and verbal recognition during the event. Reservations are required; deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 3. Cancellations after this date will be charged the full amount.
